Installing or reinstalling the LSS dongle drivers

If you have updated your LSS software from 10.1.17 (or earlier) and you now see “Deskey Not Found”  'Dynamic Link Library' or an LSSwintab.dll error when you run LSS, you may need to reinstall the dongle drivers.

Note: If you are accessing the LSS dongle across a network then the server must have the same updated dongle drivers installed.

If the dongle is only going to be plugged into your computer.

  • Download the CLIENT dongle drivers.
  • Install the drivers.
  • Plug the dongle in
  • Run LSS
  • You may be prompted to call to activate the dongle. We are here 09:00am-5:00pm (UK time) Mon-Fri excl Bank Holidays

If the dongle is going to be accessed across the network

  • Download the CLIENT drivers to install on your LOCAL computer.
  • Install the drivers.
  • Download the SERVER drivers to install on your Server computer, or the computer acting as the dongle server.
  • Install the drivers.
  • Plug the dongle into the dongle server computer.
  • Please refer to these instructions on Networking the LSS Dongle.
  • Run LSS.

Dongle test program

If you are having issues with the LSS dongle, then you can test it by following these instructions:

  • Download
  • Ensure the dongle is connected and the drivers are configured to the best of your knowledge.
  • Unzip the file and run DKTEST.EXE
  • Contact McCarthy Taylor Systems if you are getting any dongle not found errors.
