Requirements:

This is a course for users who have attended the LSS Introduction Course and have some knowledge of processing total station surveys.

What will I learn?

• Session 1 – Copying the Code List onto a Survey Instrument, Configuring LSS for Survey Instruments,Inputting and Processing Total Station Survey Data.

• Session 2 – LSS Coding and the Reserved Codes, Creating a new survey for GPS transformed data, Processing a Building Elevation Survey.

• Session 3 – Survey Query and Report commands, Control commands for Station Observations, Traverse Adjustment and Amending Observations.  

• Session 4 – Tidying Crossing Links, the Terrain and Non-terrain Overlays, CAD-Pro Commands, and Survey Transformation. 

Requirements

This is a course for users who have attended the LSS Introduction Course. 

What will I learn?

• Session 1 – Creating New Surveys and Converting XYZ (CSV), DXFs and DWGs. 
• Session 2 – Tidying the Survey, Removing and Amending Features, Sorting Overlays, the CAD-Pro commands, Designing Circles and Arcs.
• Session 3 – Simple Design Procedures, Parallel and Variable Offsets, Digitising, Copying Data between DTMs, Computing Areas and Volumes.
• Session 4 – Generating Sections, Plotting Plans and Sections, Sending Sections to a Load File and looking at 3-D View.

Requirements

This is a course for users who have attended the LSS Intermediate and ideally have some experience in using LSS.

What will I learn?

• Session 1 – Configuring LSS for Survey Instruments, Converting Survey Data for Processing, Resection and Multiple Target Examples.
• Session 2 – Converting Third Party Data (XYZ/CSV, LandXML and 2D DXF), Converting 2D DXF data to a 3D Survey. 
• Session 3 – Changing the 2D Observations to the 3D levels, Changing Levels to Required Values, Finding the Balance Cut/Fill Level, Adding Surface Depths.
• Session 4 – Computing Areas and Volumes without and with Surface Depths, Designing a Formation Model, Exporting for Setting Out and Machien Control. 

Requirements

This is a course for users who have attended the LSS Introduction Course, or have LSS experience and need to work from Point Cloud data. 

What will I learn?

• Session 1 – Navigating in LSS 3D Vision, the General Programme Layout and Tool Commands, Importing Point Cloud Data in e57 Format.
• Session 2 – Making use of the Filter Box, Searchphere and Blend Options, Connecting LSS 3D Vision with LSS and Digitising Survey Data.
• Session 3 – Adjusting Digitised Data and Adding New Observations with LSS CAD-Pro, using the Slice and Section commands. 
• Session 4 – Using the Multi-Link Feature command and Terrain Extraction Methods, and using the Slice Mode for Floor Plans and Elevations.

Requirements

This is a course for users who have attended the LSS Intermediate and have some experience in using LSS.

What will I learn?

• Session 1 – Designing simple and Benched Slopes, Adding Surfaces by Slopes and Reporting Volumes, and Advanced Volumes Options.
• Session 2 – Merging Design Models into the Surrounding Terrain, Designing a Longitudinal Gradient and Access Ramp.
• Session 3 – Designing Simple Slopes up/down, Isopachyte Analysis, Designing Pre and Post-Restoration Contours, Adjusting for Required Volume.
• Session 4 – Designing a Platform at a Balanced Cut/Fill, Side Slopes and Gradients by Template Files, Finding the Cut/Fill Boundary, and Computing Volumes with Surface Depths.

Requirements

This is a course for users who have attended the LSS Introduction Course.

What will I learn?

• Session 1 – Reviewing the Survey Legend for Heighted Features, Adding Textures to Features and Setting Widths, the Background Image in 3D View. 
• Session 2 – Creating a New Survey and Converting Gridded XYZ Data, Viewing the Survey in 3D, and Integrating Digital Photography. 
• Session 3 – Adding Heighted Features into a DTM, Adding Surfaces, using the CAD-Pro Commands, Creating a Mixed Woodland From Multiple Observations.
• Session 4 – Inserting One Survey into Another, more Advanced Options for Modelling, Creating a Photo-Montage and Flight-Path, Exporting to 3D Vantage.

Requirements

This is a course for users who have attended the LSS Introduction and LSS Visualisation Courses.

What will I learn?

• Session 1 – Reviewing the Survey Legend for Heighted Features, Creating a New Survey and Converting Esri Ascii Grid Data, Adding a Background Map. 
• Session 2 – Converting a 2D DXF File, Visability by Query Commands, Creating a Visibility Map by Radiating Lines.
• Session 3 – Creating a Visual Impact Maps for Numbers of Features, Heights of Features. 
• Session 4 – Transforming a Design to National Grid and Adding to DTM, Creating a Horizontal ZTV Map Without and With Mitigating Features. 

Requirements

This is a course for LSS Vista users who have attended the LSS Introduction and Intermediate Courses who want to look at Plotting to Adobe Acrobat (PDF) and Exporting to AutoCAD in more Detail. 

The course covers the use (and adapting) of the LSS Description Files for Plans (.PDF), Sections (.SDF), and AutoCAD (.ADF), and includes the Plotting of Sections to a LSS Load File, which Enables Sections to be Viewed and Edited in LSS. 

What will I learn?

• Session 1 – Configuring, Reporting and Comparing the Survey Legend, Controlling the Display, and Annotating the Survey.
• Session 2 – The LSS Plan Description File and commands, Plotting an LSS DTM Survey to Adobe Acrobat PDF.
• Session 3 – The Overdraw Command and Plot Border Surveys, Creating and Displaying a Section Reference Line, Plotting Sections to Adobe Acrobat PDF.
• Session 4 – Sending Section Plots into LSS, Exporting Plan Data to AutoCAD DXF, Using and Adapting an AutoCAD Description File (ADF).

This is a course for LSS Vista users who have attended the LSS Introduction course and want to look at Exporting for Machine Control in more detail. 

The course reviews the LSS DTM concepts and Covers the Converting of Third Party Data, before Adding Surfaces with Depths, Creating a Formation Model, and Exporting in Various Formats for Machine Control. 

What will I learn?

• Session 1 – LSS and Digital Terrain Models, Navigating around, Displaying and Querying the Survey. 
• Session 2 – Configuring the Survey Legend, Converting Third Party Data in XYZ and 3D DXF Formats. 
• Session 3 – Converting a LandXML file with Alignment, Checking and Editing the DTM, the Transform Commands and LSS Toolkit. 
• Session 4 – Adding Surface Features with Construction Depths, Creating a Formation Model, Export for Setting Out and Machine Control.

This training course is for Leica Captivate TPS users who want to configure their own Leica Captivate survey equipment and pc and includes an overview of LSS DTM Surveying; configuring the logger and the code list, LSS Features and Reserved Codes; Configuring LSS for Leica Captivate and processing an example Captivate DBX Job in LSS survey; Annotation and Export to AutoCAD DXF. 

What will I learn?

• Session 1 – LSS and Digital Terrain Models; Interrogating the model; LSS Legend and Export to Captivate Code List. 
• Session 2 – LSS feature coding, Reserved codes and field notes; configuring Leica Captivate for LSS – config sets etc.
