For those of you within a 100 mile radius of Coventry, you may be interested in attending GEO-8. In previous years this exhibition was called 'World of Geomatics'. It will showcase the widest range of surveying equipment, software and services in one place. We'll be there again and hopefully this year you won't have any difficulty in finding our stand. We're close to the refreshment area and the stand will be open-sided. Please come along and say hello. We'll be happy to show you what we've been working on since last year.

If you'd like to attend the show just come along to the Ricoh Arena (Coventry City Football Ground) which, for those with Sat-Nav, is at CV6 6GE. For the rest, directions are available HERE.

The show is open this Wednesday (9th Apr) from 9:30am-5:30pm and Thursday (10th Apr) from 9:30am-4:30pm.

Testing of the Beta version of LSS is going well. Many thanks to those of you who are helping us out by testing the program for us. If you'd like to see what we've been up to you too can download the latest pre-release (Beta) version of the software, but please bear in mind that by doing so you are agreeing to let us know if you find any anomalies or encounter any problems with the software. This is also your oppurtunity to give us your feedback on the software and maybe influence the development of the system.

Highlights include:- CAD-Pro functionality (this was termed CoGo in our November 2007 Newsletter) which offers quality assured editing which should be of interest to all users who have to edit their surveys.

Additions to the ZVI functionality - including a new command which will determine maximum permissable development heights.

3-D view enhancements - including the representation of earth curvature and refraction and the batch capturing of large bitmaps from named viewpoints.

There has been a delay in production of the latest Newsletter, which is why we are sending out this e-bulletin. However, we have taken the opportunity to pack the Newsletter full of useful development information. We'll be undertaking more training in the next 6 months than at any other time in our history, so the diary on the back page should be of even more interest than usual.

If you can't wait ten days for the Newsletter to arrive through the post you might want to visit our website for a sneak preview and book a training course for yourself or a colleague.

We explained in our last e-bulletin that our plans to implement a robust automatic update system for LSS fell at the first hurdle and we decided to write our own solution.

This is now in place and undergoing testing by a few LSS users.

What the system will mean is a move away from having to log onto our website before downloading a program update or waiting for a CD to arrive in the post before getting the latest update. For those with an internet connection, it should mean that they are always on the latest version. For the rest, this doesn't mean we will be ditching CD distributions entirely, but it will allow us to know who needs a CD and who doesn't.

Watch this space for news as and when we have it. In the meantime, thank you to those who have been testing the system again for us.
