It's late June and it hasn't stopped raining since early May! And the situation isn't much better in some other parts of the world either. Speaking to a user in Australia, he's just seen on TV a ship run aground off the coast of NSW during heavy storms. With all this going on, it's comforting to know isn't it that you can still rely on some things? And over the past few months some of you have been getting used to regular updates to the LSS program appearing on our website. Keeping a main release version and a pre-release (Beta) version on the go has kept us all busy since Christmas, but now we're almost ready to cut over 2,000 CDs and send them out to every LSS user with the July Newsletter. All the development over the past few months will culminate in LSS version 9.60.
And that's where we'd like your help. Because we are planning to send out a new CD within a week or so we need your help. If you haven't already done so please visit our Beta download page and download the pre-release version of LSS and give it a try. Let us know if you encounter any problems so we can fix them before we cut the CDs in a few days. We don't want to ship out a faulty program. And even though we check the program extensively before we send it out, there's a limit to how much we can do when compared to over 2,000 users out there using it every day. So, if you could spare us a few minutes over the next couple of days to download the Beta version and let us know of any problems, we would be grateful. |
If you need any more reason to try out the pre-release version then please click HERE for details of what is contained in this new program.
If you would like to download the program please click HERE. You'll need to enter some details, such as name and email address, but it's a much simpler registration than our normal download procedure.
This e-bulletin was only ever supposed to be a brief communication, but in an attempt to balance up the columns we thought we'd mention training again. We've added more training dates this autumn and are travelling far and wide (well, Scotland, Durham & Derbyshire) with a fresh round of courses. Oh, and we've added a new Workshop which combines the best of the 3D Visualisation Workshop and some important sections on specifying and using terrain data. Please click HERE for our latest training dairy and booking form. Thank you for reading this e-bulletin and we hope you find the links within it of use. |
