Welcome to the first of what we hope will be a regular series of electronic Newsletters from the team at McCarthy Taylor. Before we update you on what's been happening we must apologise if you have received this Newsletter in error. You can unsubscribe from this service by clicking here. Latest Program Development - Just before Christmas we launched our LSS Beta version (the pre-release version of the program) and since then quite a few users have tried it out and given us lots of valuable feedback. But we'd like more of you to download it. Here's a selection of the new commands available... Link and contour smoothing has been enhanced to produce more reliable curves in a wide range of situations. Rightmouse pop-ups have been added and include a user-defined command list, context sensitivity and a list of 'the most popular commands'. New suite of transform commands which include scale factors, translate, scale and rotate, together with a log of the commands chosen. Undo via the icon or CTRL+Z changed to undo immediately without a list being displayed and it also works within all of the dynamic edit commands. Change in the way height ranges are annotated on plots and DXF export. A loadfile can now include both radial and coordinate data. This will be of use to those using EDM and GPS instruments concurrently. The selection filter has been implemented in several commands. Plan and section plots allow the selection of 'terrain' and 'non-terrain'. That's just the start. There are several other enhancements in the Beta version. Click here for a full list of improvements. |
Training - As you know, we are always busy running training courses and workshops and we thought we'd remind you of a few events coming up in the next couple of months. Feb 14th - Leica System 1200 @ Birdlip Feb 16th - Topcon Workshop @ Birdlip Feb 28th - Trimble Workshop @ Birdlip Then, in March and April we do it all again in Central Scotland and Chesterfield. But that's not all. We're always running courses and are happy to visit your place of work should you have any Bespoke training requirements. Take a look at the training pages on our website and read all about the various options. The true cost of training - Sometimes it is difficult to justify taking a day off work to attend a training course, but we believe the increase in efficiency alone will pay for a course with a few weeks and we've put together an article to explain how this works. Click here to read our thoughts. Well, that's it for this inaugural e-newsletter. Please download the latest Beta program, or if you don't want to risk trying as yet untested software then at least keep up to date with the latest full release which currently stands at 9.50.10 which can be downloaded from our website. |
