Let's say you are a new LSS user. The last thing you want is to spend time teaching yourself the ins and outs of the system, which we know can be especially frustrating when you are constantly being interrupted by colleagues or a ringing phone. So you take the software home in the hope that you might get a few minutes to go through some of the tutorials or read the help documentation. But, with the best intentions, that UEFA Cup match on the telly seems ever so slightly more appealing.
What you need is a day away from the office to concentrate on the job in hand. 7 hours of intensive instruction, so when you leave, not only will you be armed with the knowledge to use the software you have just invested in, but you might feel less reluctant to call our support line, knowing as you do that at least you've been through the basics.
But, it doesn't end there. Yes, we'll provide you with as much technical support as you need, but what about learning about volumes, design, importing complex datafiles and generally becoming more efficient in the use of LSS?
You've been on the Introduction course, are full of confidence and ready to take on any task required of you using LSS. You're thinking about attending another course but are having difficulty justifying yet another day out of the office. Not only would it cost you money to attend, but the lost business hurts as well, because you'll never get that day back will you? Wrong. Let's explain how.
You've identified that you ought to come on the Intermediate course. That's £150. You need to get here and if you're travelling a fair distance you'll probably want to stay the night before. Let's say the petrol and hotel together cost you another £100. Then if you work for yourself there's the lost trading day, say another £300. That brings the total up to £550. Hardly a snip is it?
Okay, it wouldn't be unreasonable to expect that after attending an appropriate course you might be - conservatively speaking - 20% more efficient? Agreed? Alright then, so you fell asleep for 30 minutes after lunch. Let's say 15%.
You use LSS for 3 hours a day. Well, in fact now you'll only be using it for 2 ½ hours before moving onto the next job. Assuming you work a ten hour day, you'll have saved yourself a whole day in just twenty. That's £300 in a month of five day weeks. So, after another 17 days you'll have recouped the entire cost of the training. After that it's free!
And if you think a 15% saving is a lot, how about this quote from a user who had just attended a training day "I have already been referring to the notes this morning and successfully achieved something that would have normally taken me till 5:30" The email was sent at 11:34 that morning - that's a 60%+ increase in efficiency! Puts it into context doesn't it
